Halden Theatre was first established in Nottingham in January 2009 by Artistic Director Daniel Hallam. Daniel has worked in theatre all his working life, and brings an immense amount of theatrical and media experience to the company.
Halden Theatre aims to 'bring theatre back to the people', and in order to achieve this we have established a set of principles that we will follow.
- Capped Ticket Prices at Under £5.00 - The Audience should not have to pay for the Directors pyrotechnics!
- Perform in non-theatre-specific venues - Such as cafes, art galleries and pubs.
- Abridged Performances - no performance will ever run any longer than 90 minutes.
- Question and Answer sessions at the end of each performance - Helping to make sure that no member of the audience leaves perplexed.
- To tear down the conventionality of modern theatre and casting - Everyone Deserves a Chance.
- To use lighting and design techniques that create a positive relationship between the audience and the cast - No Smoke and Mirrors
Halden Theatre is run solely by volunteers. If you would like to volunteer please contact us and let us know what you can do to help us. If you have liked what you have read here and would like to become a member then please go to our members page and let us know!
